Baku circuit works to start

Work on the Baku circuit which will host the F1 from 2016 will begin this week. Hermann Tilke announced the news to SDB Global, reported by Sports Business Daily. The track traced in the heart of the capital of Azerbaijan will be 6km long, allowing drivers to reach a maximum speed of 340km/h despite the 20 turns in the program.

“We have completed the design, but we have not started construction due to the European Games. They obviously didn’t want to have a major construction site during the Games.”, explained the famous designer of the new F1 circuits. “Many little things need to be done, but those many little things become a big task. »

The provisional calendar for the 2016 F1 season includes the European GP in Baku on July 17.
