Lotus in the tough at Monza?

Lotus has been suffering since the start of the season. At the start of the last part of the season and before the final European Grand Prix on the grounds of Ferrari in Monza in Italy, Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado expect to experience a complicated weekend on the other side of the Alps. “Of course we expect to suffer at Monza, explains the Venezuelan. It is a motor circuit, with a car with reduced aerodynamics, so it will be a real challenge. It will be interesting to see how the 2014 cars perform as it is a track with a unique configuration. »

“On paper it’s not a race for us, admits Romain Grosjean. We will fight to try to have good momentum for the Singapore race, where we should perform better, with a track that suits us better. For Monza, the key will be to get the car as fast as possible thanks to aero, in order to counterbalance our power deficit. Be careful in the turns, especially Lesmo, with the little downforce. The tire factor should not be neglected either. »

Lotus is coming out of a complicated Belgian Grand Prix, with no E22 finishing. Pastor Maldonado had experienced damage to the exhaust, the team having announced that it had reworked the area in question with a view to Monza. Romain Grosjean had experienced aero problems throughout the Belgian race.
