Lotus signed its first driver

Lotus F1 Racing has recruited a driver for next season. But, as if to better generate expectation and "tease", the Malaysian team does not reveal the identity of the person concerned. Tony Fernandes, director of Air Asia and owner of the team, revealed this himself on his Twitter account. “ Malaysian Formula 1 team Lotus has signed its first driver. Official announcement soon. The dream continues. »

Mike Gascoyne, technical director of the team, had stated on several occasions that he wanted to place experienced drivers in the seat positions. Thus, Jarno Trulli, who has worked on several occasions with Gascoyne, appears to be best placed to be the driver who will be able to help Lotus in learning F1. Fairuz Fauzy, Malaysian driver and Formula entrant Renault 3.5 Series this season, he could join the team as a test driver.
