Marchionne: “Misunderstandings” become visible at Monza

Ferrari is preparing to have a new President on October 13. Luca di Montezemolo has confirmed his departure from Maranello three days after the Italian Grand Prix at Monza where the Scuderia made a poor showing with a 9th place for Kimi Räikkönen and a retirement for Fernando Alonso. The replacement of the big boss of Ferrari by Sergio Marchionne, the current CEO of Fiat, had been anticipated for several months.

“Luca and I were appointed to the Fiat management committee on the same day, it was in 2003”, remembers the future commander of Ferrari. “He became President a year later and I became CEO.
