Marcus Ericsson in discussions with several teams

Will Marcus Ericsson stay at Sauber F1 Team in 2017? If the future of the stableHinwil has become clearer following his takeover, the Swede is not sure of continuing to defend the colors of the Swiss team next year.

“Nothing has been done yet, but I hope to make an announcement soon. We are talking to several teams, including Sauber, but there are not many places left.", regretted Felipe Nasr’s teammate.

Marcus Ericsson notably confirmed that his management has been in discussions with Williams, Renault and Force India where the crews are not yet finalized.

“We also had a bit of a chat with Manor. My management manages this and I think it is always important to stay in communication with all the teams”, specified Marcus Ericsson.

“I will be competing in my fourth season next year and I plan to drive a slightly more competitive car to show what I can do. I feel like I've progressed as a driver and I'm at a better level, but I haven't really had the chance to prove it. I’m really looking forward to having a package that allows me to fight for points on a regular basis.”, added the Swede.

Marcus Ericsson has still not scored any points this season, just like his team with whom he has been playing for two seasons after a first year at Caterham. His best result remains an eighth place at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix.
