Marko: Red Bull goes 'from problem to problem'

Si Red Bull Racing et Renault Sport F1 worked hard to resolve significant reliability issues with the RB10 and its 6l turbo/hybrid V1.6, problems continued to pile up on the new car from Milton Keynes who was only able to cover 116 laps. While the stables powered by Mercedes are accumulating stints in preparation for the start of the season in Melbourne on March 16, the Austrian team is unable to catch up in the development race. The 15th time of Daniel Ricciardo and the 17th time of Sebastian Vettel at the end of the first tests on the Sakhir circuit are there to attest to this.

Dr Helmut Marko, who heads Red Bull's young driver sector, cannot be satisfied with such a situation while his team remains on a series of four Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles. “We are in complex difficulties”, he admitted in the Salzburger Nachrichten. “We can only resolve these concerns by working together with Renault. Unfortunately, we are going from problem to problem and we are clearly behind schedule compared to what was planned. We cannot know if we will be able to resolve these issues (during final testing). We will have developments but, as I said before, everything has become very complex. »
