Marussia breaks its contract with Timo Glock!

It?s official, Timo Glock will not be in Formula 1 This year. In a statement jointly signed by Marussia F1 Team and the driver himself, the two parties have just made the information official. “Marussia F1 Team and its racing driver Timo Glock have mutually agreed to end their collaboration with immediate effect”, we can read on the official website of the Russian team based in Great Britain.

“Timo has made an important contribution to our team over the last three seasons, helping us develop our package to the point where for much of the season we held 10th place in the Constructors' Championship,” John Booth explains. If the reasons for this breach of contract are not clearly explained, the main team of the team suggests that economic considerations motivated this decision. We can therefore expect that the future replacement for Timo Glock, if it will be announced " on time ", brings with it a significant budget for Marussia.

“Our team was founded with the principle of benefiting from experienced drivers while offering opportunities to young talents. So far, this philosophy has also been reflected in our business model,” explains the boss of Marussia. “The current challenges that the industry faces mean that we have had to make choices about our future. Difficult economic conditions prevail and the business landscape is difficult. We would like to thank Timo for working with us to arrive at this decision, especially because he had a current contract. »

For his part, Timo Glock already seems to have found a plan B. “I have had three excellent years with Marussia, during which I was fortunate to be able to actively participate in the construction and development of the team in its efforts to succeed,” announces the pilot. “I would like to wish the team good luck and thank everyone for the good times we shared and for the support I received. While this isn?t the path I wanted to take, I?m actually very excited about what the future holds for my own career, and I hope to be able to say more very soon?. Sport Bild, who revealed the information on Sunday evening, understands that the German could find refuge in DTM.
