Mateschitz: Red Bull will only stay if it succeeds

Speculation about a departure from Red Bull is resuming with the latest interview with Dietrich Mateschitz given to the Austrian press agency APA. The CEO of the Red Bull confirmed the words of Dr Helmut Marko, advisor to the Red Bull Racing and responsible for the young pilots sector, who mentioned the possibility ofa departure from F1.

“What Helmut said was right.”, confirmed the Austrian businessman. « We will not stay F1 that if we have a competitive team and we need a powerful Power Unit for this. You can have the best car and the best drivers without having any chance of winning otherwise. »

Dietrich Mateschitz points out the lagging performance of the 6l turbo/hybrid V1.6 Viruses-Châtillon despite the efforts of Losange to get back to the forefront. “The problem is that we have no control in this sector... We must achieve Renault to bring us closer to Ferrari, And especially Mercedes."

The Red Bull boss also made it clear that he did not want to sell Toro Rosso, not being “genuinely involved” currently on the subject.
