Could the reigning world champion have hoped for a worse start to the season? Beaten in qualifying where he settled for 2e time behind Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen then did not complete the Bahrain Grand Prix, betrayed by the mechanics of his RB18 at 54e of the 57 laps on the program. Enough to nourish great regrets while the hopes of pole position and victory were real.

Left behind by Charles Leclerc and his 26 units after just one race, the Dutchman already has the opportunity to get back on track with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix scheduled for this weekend. And the least we can say is that Max Verstappen arrives in Jeddah with a vengeful spirit.

« Last weekend was difficult for all of us. We win and we lose as a team and we will come back stronger, advances the Red Bull driver. We have a good unit and we were competitive in Bahrain, so there are positives to take from the weekend. We have a very long season ahead of us. It was only the first race.

As for Saudi Arabia, the circuit is still very new for us, last year the humidity was a challenge and they made some small adjustments to the visibility in the first sector, so I'm curious to see how it's going to be this time. It’s a very fast track with high speed straights and this year the cars are slightly heavier. It will therefore be very interesting to see how they will behave. I'm really looking forward to it, it should be nice."
