McLaren hopes to have solved its problems

Six rounds for Fernando Alonso Sunday, and six laps this Monday for his British teammate Jenson Button. The beginnings of the McLaren-Honda MP4-30 are rather delicate during these first winter tests at Jerez in Spain. But the 2009 World Champion hopes that things will improve tomorrow.

“We expected these tests to be difficult, explains Button. The next two days probably won't be smooth sailing, but people have short memories. Look at last winter: the first tests were complicated for everyone too. So there are no real concerns at the moment. We hope we have resolved our issue. The last lap of the day seems to have confirmed it, so I hope tomorrow will be a little easier. It would be nice to get a few revs on the engine, to start to know where we are. It's a complex Power Unit, but the package is amazing and we haven't had any temperature issues. »

Spaniard Fernando Alonso will be back on track tomorrow at the wheel of the MP4-30. Photos from the Jerez tests can be viewed here.
