Mercedes, happy for Schumacher

Throughout the weekend he was ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg and never left the top 6 ranks on the ranking sheets, whether after free practice, qualifying or the race itself. . The return of the Formula 1 on the old continent seems to have done the greatest good for Michael Schmacher, just like the developments received by his W01. At the house of Mercedes, we welcome the German's return to form.

?Congratulations to Michael and the whole team for what they achieved today, declared Ross Brawn at the finish of the Spanish Grand Prix. Michael drove extremely well throughout the weekend and confirms the progress seen during the first three rounds of the season. He obtains his best final result since he has been with us.

A feeling shared by Norbert Haug, who salutes the performance of his driver, who has had to endure numerous criticisms since the start of the season.

“Michael?s fourth place is the best result we could get today, explained the Vice-President of Mercedes Motrosport on Sunday evening. He drove remarkably, making some very good overtakes and managing to hold off the attacks of the reigning World Champion and current standings leader, Jenson Button. I am very happy for Michael and for the whole team. In five races our best results have been 5th, 5th, 3rd, 3rd and now 4th. These results are more or less the best we could have hoped for, which is very pleasing, but we are aware that our main objective is to win and not to come home with places of honor.

The truce therefore seems to have given new life to the Mercedes GP team and its seven-time German World Champion. It now remains to be confirmed this weekend in the principality of Monaco (a Grand Prix that the Kaiser has won five times), and to provide Nico Rosberg with a car which suits him better than last weekend.
