Mercedes wants better results

The results of Mercedes were disappointing on the Monaco circuit. The team only scored six points with Nico Rosberg?s seventh place but could have collected more if Michael Schumacher had not doubled Fernando Alonso under Safety Car, in the last corner of the Principality race. Renault is just 13 points behind the German team which will seek to consolidate its position at the Turkish Grand Prix.

Nico Rosberg is in a more comfortable situation than his teammate, since he has scored more than double the points in the first six events of the World Championship. F1. The young driver will seek to get ahead Lewis Hamilton, only three points behind the German. “ Istanbul is a superb circuit where overtaking opportunities are numerous », affirms the Mercedes driver who will want to be in front of the McLaren race. “ We will work very hard to forget these two bad races in Barcelona and Monaco. We will come back with developments that we will complete during free practice. I think it will be a good weekend », Confirms Rosberg.

Michael Schumacher, whose results at the start of the season can be judged as disappointing, nevertheless proved that he was gradually recovering his anger. His overtaking attempt on the last lap in Monaco, which earned him a penalty received by the stewards, had the merit of showing that he was ready to take all the risks to achieve better results. There is no doubt that he will do everything he can to catch up with his teammate in Turkey. “ I am very looking forward to the next Grand Prix », declares the former world champion. “ The team staff worked extremely hard to prepare a car improved. We want their efforts to pay off », confides a Schumacher who will be keen to demonstrate his real skills.

Ross Brawn obviously said he was disappointed with the result obtained by Mercedes in the Principality. “ Monaco was a frustrating race for the team as we were unable to fully exploit our potential. We were fast, with very good pit stops, but we didn't get the results we were looking for », Says the director of Mercedes GP. With an improved F-Duct and a longer wheelbase, Brawn hopes that the drivers will obtain better results than those of the last two Grands Prix, otherwise risk being caught by Renault next weekend.
