Michael Schumacher in the unknown

Michael Schumacher will he manage to shine this season? Since his return to F1, predictions are rife as to the “date” of his return to the forefront. Until then, the seven-time World Champion has not returned to the top of the table and has stood out more for his behavior (Monaco, Montreal) than for his driving skills. However, the German driver remains optimistic, even if the next Grand Prix will take place on a circuit he does not know.

Indeed, if he has won the European Grand Prix six times, Michael Schumacher will discover the Valencia street circuit next weekend. This track, far from offering as exciting a challenge as that of Monaco, was created in 2008 to replace the Nürburgring and has, for the moment, dedicated Felipe Massa and Rubens Barrichello.

« Valencia is a circuit that I have never driven on before so it is a new experience that is offered to me, says Schumi. But I'm looking forward to it because I've always been very good at adapting to new situations. I hope this will be the case in Valencia. I love having these new experiences and having in-depth discussions with my engineers about this challenge. We are coming with developments, which will improve performance. In Canada, the pace was already better but that was not seen in the results. This is why I expect a lot from this trip to Spain. »
