Michael Schumacher delighted with Mercedes performance

While he announced his participation in the next Race of Champions next December, Michael Schumacher took the opportunity to give his view on the performances of Mercedes this season in Formula 1, the stable that he left to retire at the end of last year. After several pole positions and a total of three victories, the Brackley team is currently having its best season since its return to competition in 2010. A fact which satisfies the seven-time world champion.

“I am happy with the progress clearly made by the team, declared the German. This means that the work we did in the past was not bad, since in fact we settled the basics that we were looking for, to then increase in performance. It's cool to see that the step forward made by the team, from last season to this season, is probably even bigger than we expected, and I think I have good reasons to do so. rejoice in it,” explains Schumacher, who recalls in this way that he played a role in the performances currently displayed by the Silver Arrows.

Asked, in another register, about his new ways as a retiree to find adrenaline, Schumi wanted to make things clear: ?It?s funny because everyone thinks I need adrenaline to be happy, he noted. In fact, if you get an adrenaline rush in F1, you're setting yourself up for problems. The calmer and more relaxed you are in the car, the better. And the same goes for other sports like motorcycling. What I like about these disciplines is finding the limit, being at the limit, and always being in control. Finding that right limit is something I have always loved. »
