Mick Schumacher, Ilott and Shwartzman to debut in F1 in free practice

The results of Mick Schumacher, Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman in Formula 2 do not go unnoticed by the Ferrari galaxy. The three residents of the Ferrari Drivers’ Academy were appointed to carry out a free practice session with the unofficial reserve of the Team, Namely Alfa Romeo this fall 2020.

The son of the seven-time world champion, leader of the F2 general classification after the Russian meeting, will drive theAlfa Romeo C39 on the Nürburgring circuit (Germany), Friday October 9. His closest pursuer, Callum Ilott, will have the pleasure of piloting the Haas in the Eifel at the same time.

My first participation in a F1 weekend will be at the Nürburgring next week. Super happy and can't wait to drive in front of my home crowd. A big thank you to @insideFDA @ScuderiaFerrari and @alfaromeoracing for this opportunity! #F1 #EifelGP pic.twitter.com/rgYz9mJX5U

“For the next 10 days, I will prepare well, says Mick Schumacher, Prema representative in Formula 2. This way, I will be able to do the best possible job for the team and collect valuable data for their rest of the weekend.

Getting my first participation in a Formula 1 Grand Prix in front of my home crowd at the Nürburgring will make this moment even more precious. »

In order to better prepare them for these tests, Ferrari will invite the young trio to Fiorano for a day of testing with the 71 Ferrari SF2018H. The prospect of these tests is obviously one or more seats from Alfa Romeo and/or Haas for 2021.
