Monaco-EL3: Vettel places before qualifying

157 thousandths separate the first four drivers in the standings of the last free practice session of the 2016 Monaco Grand Prix. A session narrowly dominated by the Ferrari SF16-H Sebastian Vettel, author of a best lap in 1'14″650, sufficient to be 18 thousandths ahead of the Mercedes W07 Hybrid Lewis Hamilton.

Behind the last two world champions, Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) are respectively at 122 and 157 thousandths, thus announcing a potentially very competitive qualifying session from 14 p.m. (to follow live with commentary on our website).

Si Max Verstappen climbs into fifth position, the winner of the Spanish Grand Prix was called to order by the Monaco track, going hit the barriers at the Massenet bend, at the top of the Beau-Rivage climb.

Daniil Kvyat once again ahead of his teammate Carlos Sainz in Toro Rosso ranking 5th, followed by the Spaniard in the ranking. Sergio Pérez (Force India), Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) and Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) complete the top 10.

Romain Grosjean (Haas) takes 17th place, two ranks behind his teammate Esteban Gutiérrez, while in the clan Renault, the session was marked by Jolyon Palmer's error at the Piscine chicane. The Briton spun, and slightly damaged the rear part of his car, but the consequences could have been much more serious.
