Montezemolo campaigns for F1 in Europe

Luca di Montezemolo raised several debates during Ferrari's end-of-year press conference. One of the Italian's main concerns concerns the future of the F1 in Europe. European events indeed seem to be decreasing inexorably. Bernie Ecclestone had also indicated that the number of races contested on the Old Continent could further decrease. The president of the Team campaigned for a future of the discipline on European territory.

“It is very important to keep Europe in F1. It’s good to see the discipline in India, Russia, South Korea, the Middle East and of course the USA.”, he commented. “But we must not lose our tradition and history in Europe, especially when we discover circuits that are not as exciting as Spa-Francorchamps. We must be careful not to dilute the image of F1. I am still very happy to finally be going to the United States. It was strange that F1 was going to so many countries without going through the biggest car market. »
