Nick Heidfeld still believes in it

However, at the end of 2009, 'Quick Nick' was in contact to join several stables and not the least important ones. After the formalization of BMW to withdraw from the F1, the German driver quickly turned to other teams, however keeping his chances in the team?Hinwil, finally taken over by Peter Sauber. The best chances were then located at McLaren-Mercedes then Mercedes Grand Prix, but two world champions, Jenson Button and Michael Schumacher, were preferred to him. From now on, it is a role of third driver at Mercedes GP which is looming. Despite everything, Heidfeld does not lose hope.

« My professional situation did not forget me during my vacation, confesses Quick Nick. Especially after Michael Schumacher's decision was made official shortly before Christmas. This is obviously a very good thing for Formula 1 and I wish only good things for Michael and Mercedes. »

Even if he shows his solidarity with his illustrious compatriot, the German driver does not hide that this decision does not help the continuation of his career in F1. “ This choice concerns me directly because it means that there are fewer interesting places for the next season. But I'm not naive when I say, especially after these last few weeks, that a lot of unexpected things can happen in F1. »

« Now we have to work hard and look forward to find the best solution for my future in F1, continues Heidfeld. I will continue to train, to continue discussions with the appropriate people. » If he wants to keep his place in F1 as a regular driver, the German driver must act quickly, because now places are more and more expensive.
