Nico Rosberg scored his second pole in a row by winning qualifying for the Russian GP ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Nico Rosberg on pole for the Russian GP

Nico Rosberg was most comfortable on the Sochi circuit during qualifying for the Russian GP. Despite the lack of running during testing, the German managed to quickly find performance on his W06 Hybrid to clock a time of 1'37"113, three tenths ahead of his teammate. Lewis Hamilton who did not have time to get back on the track to make one last attempt. Mercedes once again offers a first row on the grid.

The results are more mixed among Williams. One Valtteri Bottas was closest to the Silver Arrows, Felipe Massa was only able to set the last time of Q2 by taking 15th place on the grid. THE Ferrari de Sebastian Vettel et Kimi Räikkönen complete the top five ahead of the Force India of Nico Hulkenberg et Sergio Pérez.

Romain Grosjean (Lotus) took eighth position ahead of Max Verstappen (Toro Rosso) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull). Yes Fernando Alonso (McLaren) finished in 16th place, the Asturian will have to start from the back of the grid following his penalty.
