Slowly but surely, McLaren continues the restructuring of its teams in Woking. After the ousting of technical director James Key last March due to the difficult design of the MCL60, the English firm moved in the other direction, that of recruits. In a few months, she managed to catch two large pieces with the arrivals of David Sanchez, former member of the Ferrari design and development team, and Rob Marshall, engineering manager at Red Bull, counting on 1er January 2024.

Unable to wait any longer to see his team return to the top of the table, Zak Brown decided to take charge to speed up the process. Recruitment is the perfect illustration of this and internally it is going rather well.

« I would say a lot, even more today than in the past, and réponddu Lando Norris when he was asked about the confidence he had in Zak Brown and his management. I would never want to say that I don't believe in it, I've never said it and I probably won't say it. But it is certain that since the last changes, there have been a lot of good things, both in terms of mood, atmosphere, but also in terms of performance but also in terms of what will happen in the future.."

Happy to see that things are speeding up, Lando Norris nevertheless keeps his feet on the ground. If the recent decisions of the McLaren board make him smile, the Englishman is aware that the road is still long. “ Not everything is immediate Formula 1he recalls. Many things take time. So I suppose there is also that aspect, but it is certain that things have evolved for the better. I can easily confirm this and say it with confidence. But we will see that in due time. » That’s good, he is under contract until 2025 so he will have time.
