New teams in F1, instructions for use

Precedents, modalities, criteria, potential candidates, the manifesto of intention that the FIA will issue to allow the arrival – or not! – new teams in Formula 1 require some clarification.

The acceptance of a file such as the Andretti-Cadillac application will not be done without a rigorous process of which the Group F1 and the stables will be involved. In this regard, it is to be hoped that the latter – for obvious reasons of monopoly – are excluded from the selection process. Process that the FIA should reveal shortly and which should not stray far from that which, in December 2013, had allowed the team Haas to earn his place. Since then, the opening to new teams has always been met with refusal from the commercial rights holder and the teams. OK, for the purchase of an existing team, but
