Ocon resisted as best he could at Monza

Esteban Ocon hoped to land his first podium in F1 at the Italian GP starting from 3rd place at Monza, but the Force India driver was only able to salvage a 6th place after having to fight to protect his position.

“There wasn’t much more we could do, recognized Esteban Ocon on Canal+. This result nevertheless offers good points. I stood for a moment in front of the Ferrari, but we also had to give in to the Red Bull (of Daniel Ricciardo). I was still able to stay in front of the Williams although they were faster. »

Esteban Ocon still achieves his 7th consecutive finish in the points and thus comes within 3 points of his teammate Sergio Pérez who remains in 7th place in the Drivers' standings after finishing the Italian GP in 9th place.

“I always want to get my first podium. We couldn't be 3rd on the Monza grid on a regular basis and yet we managed it. The season is not over and we could perhaps finish in the top three before the end of the year.”, added Esteban Ocon.
