Official: Daniel Ricciardo returns to Red Bull!

The strong tongue of Dr Helmut Marko had it right in Abu Dhabi: Daniel Ricciardo will be Red Bull's third driver in 2023. The Austrian team has confirmed the return of the eight-time Grand Prix winner to Milton Keynes (Britain). The Australian returns in the role of third driver and will therefore have the mission of testing, working in the simulator, but also carrying out commercial activities.

“It’s great to have Daniel back in the family, rejoiced Christian Horner. He has enormous talent and he is such a brilliant character; I know the whole factory is delighted to welcome him back home. In his role as third driver, Daniel will help us in the development of the car, bringing us all his experience and knowledge of its success in F1. We are extremely happy to be working with Daniel again and we can't wait to see what he can bring us. »

“My smile says it all, I’m really looking forward to returning to Red Bull in a third driver role in 2023, adds Daniel Ricciardo. I have many memories from my years here, but the welcome from Christian, Dr. Marko and the entire team is something I sincerely appreciate. Personally, being part of and helping the best team in Formula 1, while allowing me to recharge my batteries and refocus, is something attractive. I look forward to being with the team and supporting them with simulator work, testing sessions and commercial activities. »

Will he have the opportunity to be on the streets of Milton Keynes on December 10 to celebrate his first double since 2013? For the occasion, Red Bull plans to organize a demonstration on December 10 in the streets of Milton Keynes, where its facilities are located. The “Milton Keynes Homerun” will revolve around Midsummer Boulevard, located in the heart of the English city. No need to buy a ticket, the event will be accessible free of charge to all residents who will be able to admire the Taureau Rouge single-seaters during the day. It will last three hours from 12:00 p.m. to 15:00 p.m. (local time).
