Oscar piastri comes out of a full weekend in Jeddah where he finished 4th, just ahead of the double world champion Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin). Enough to arrive at the Australian Grand Prix, at home, in great shape and with a lot of confidence. Not a weekend like any other for the young driver McLaren.

We know that these home races, in front of your audience, can add additional pressure for the drivers, especially when you are 22 years old and starting your second year in Formula 1. However, Oscar Piastri doesn't seem to know the feeling of pressure. On the other hand, it's more excitement that drives the Australian: “We got off to a good start, with a 4th place in Saudi Arabia. I was back at MTC last week to look at all the data to see where we can maximize our performance. I look forward to seeing lots of papaya in the crowd this weekend,” rejoices Oscar Piastri.

A successful start to the season for McLaren

With 28 points in the standings in two Grands Prix, McLaren stands out as one of the leading forces in the peloton. A more than honest start to the season, to the great pleasure of Andrea Stella, the main team of the English team: “We come out of Bahrain and Jeddah with good points and strong performances on track from Lando and Oscar. It is important that we continue this momentum while focusing on the areas that we still need to develop, in order to be able to challenge for podiums.”

With such a tight peloton, we are then entitled to hope, why not, a top 3 from Oscar Piastri for his home race, which would make him the first Australian driver in history to be classified on the podium of his Grand Prix.

On the podium of the Aussie GP, obviously a dream for the Melbourne native, but the Ferraris seem a little above the McLarens and should finish just behind the 2 Red Bulls without too much surprise!
