Where are Sauber's finances?

There is uncertainty regarding Sauber's financial situation. The Swiss team is currently going through a dark period, with an immense debt estimated at more than 80 million euros. In difficulty, the training ofHinwil has placed its destiny in the hands of several Russian investment funds, with whom an agreement has been reached, with the condition that a steering wheel be entrusted to the Russian Serguey Sirotkin for 2014. The arrangement, announced in July, was then delayed, to the point of making people think that everything had fallen through. With the officialization of Sirotkin?s tenure for next year, announced this Friday in Spa, there is reason to believe that everything is back to normal.

This would obviously not be the case, to believe the Welt. The Russian agreement provided for the sending of 22 million euros to Sauber after the young driver's tenure, except, the German newspaper understands, only 3 million would have been transferred. The situation would be “dramatic”, underlines the German publication.

Information to be taken with great caution, since Car engine and sport does a very different observation. Indeed, the magazine, also from across the Rhine, explains that Nico Hulkenberg, who has not received his salary for several months, would have started to see the money coming in. “We had a little money”, confirms his manager Werner Heinz. “ It seems to be going better at Sauber?. Still according to Auto Motor Und Sport, the Hinwil training would have brought several technical developments to Belgium, such as a new front wing, which would argue for an improvement in their finances.
