Pat Symonds no longer wants to work for an F1 team

Pat Symonds will still seek to evolve in the world of motor sports but does not intend to find a position in a racing team. F1. The former technical director of Williams will be replaced this year by Paddy Lowe following arrangements between the Grove stable and Mercedes.

“I spent the month of January studying the possibilities available to me, commented the British engineer, quoted by Fox Sports. I'll be on vacation this month and I'll take the opportunity to decide on things that might interest me and I'll get started in March. »

“I don’t really plan to join another F1 team. I prefer to do something else now, added Pat Symonds. I'm surprised by the amount of work that needs to be done outside. I am quite open about the possibilities available to me. I clearly haven't retired. It would be good to use my experience in a positive way for the sport, now that I am away from the continuous intensity of a team. »

Pat Symonds was appointed Associate Professor at Cranfield University (Great Britain) in January.
