As in Canada and Belgium earlier in the season, Charles Leclerc will receive a penalty during the United States Grand Prix. For having fitted a 6th internal combustion engine and a 6th turbo on its car, the Monegasque will start with a ten-place penalty on the grid on Sunday.

A hard blow for the pilot Ferrari, who is struggling with Sergio Perez for the honorary place of vice-world champion (he is one point behind Checo). The Mexican, who is also changing engines, will leave with an outlay of five positions.

Charles Leclerc is, however, not the only one to have changed engine elements before Free Practice 3, since the car of Fernando Alonso was also equipped with a new internal combustion engine, also its 6th of the season.

Having not changed the turbo, the Spaniard gets away with a simple penalty of five places, like Perez and Zhou SO. As a reminder, qualifying will take place this Saturday evening at midnight French time, while the Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, at 21 p.m.
