Sergio Pérez hopes to confirm his program for the 2018 season in the coming weeks before the Singapore GP scheduled for September 17. The Force India driver was optimistic about his future in F1 after having defended the colors of the Indian team for four seasons.
“I’m pretty close., confided Sergio Pérez. Every contract signed with me involves my Mexican partners. They are currently under discussion and we hope to be able to announce something soon. We should be able to secure my future before we leave for Asia. There is no rush because I know I am in a good position and I want to concentrate on exploiting the full potential of the car."
Sergio Pérez nevertheless remains frustrated by the development of the VJM10 which does not correspond to his driving style. The Force India driver has not been in the top five since the Canadian GP even though he is 11 points ahead of his teammate Esteban Ocon.
“The car has been developed more or less every race and it doesn't really suit my driving style, explains Sergio Pérez. I tend to have a lot of speed entering corners and that has been one of the problems I have suffered in recent events. We tried to resolve this issue and came to the conclusion that I had to adapt to it for qualifying. »
