The battle went under the radar of live TV in the last lap of the 2019 Belgian Grand Prix. Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) and Alexander albon (Red Bull) flirted with the limits of fair play through two rough attacks at Spa-Francorchamps.
After forcing the Mexican to cut the Bus Stop chicane, the Thai found the opening in the Combes straight, at 300 km/h, although pushed towards the grass by the Racing Point ! The image is spectacular:
El lío entre Checo y Albon comes at the Bus Stop chicane. The tailgates which are suitable for this and the Mexican corta therefore have no space.
Luego Pérez goes long in Le Source and he follows the path by the tree on Alex's part. #BelgianGP

Simply lectured by the track marshals after the finish, the two men retained their fifth and sixth places. However, fans and “ultras” of the F1 let loose on social networks and did not hesitate to call Sergio Pérez's driving all the names.

The pilot, retained by Racing Point for three more years, reacted on his Twitter page Tuesday September 3. “It's sad to see that there are always people at home who complain about the best drivers in the world without understanding the effort and the risk taken in a car, especially during the context of last weekend”, in reference to the death of Anthoine Hubert.
It's sad that there's still people sitting at home criticizing the best drivers of the world without understanding the effort and risk of getting into a car, especially under last weekend's conditions. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/nrXhclqyTd

“It was a very difficult race for everyone, congratulations to the drivers for giving their best effort on the track. Hoping this will help create awareness of what is at stake each weekend of competition. »
