Petrov discovering Interlagos

Vitaly Petrov's retirement in Korea is the fourth GP in a row where the driver Renault no longer manages to get into the points. His future within the French team seems more and more compromised, but the Russian still wants to prove what he is capable of. “ When you experience difficult races as was the case for me in Japan and Korea, you look forward to getting back into the car to forget all the bad memories. So I?m looking forward to being at Interlagos. »

The beginner in F1 will look to finish the race at a Brazilian GP which often holds surprises. “ It's difficult to know what to expect, I've never raced in Brazil before. So this will be a new challenge for me. It is a very famous circuit where memorable races have taken place, especially in recent years when the championship was decided there. I remember seeing these races on television, so experiencing Interlagos “for real” will be a great moment. »

Robert Kubica's teammate is looking to put all the chances on his side by working on the circuit. “ After Korea, I immediately went to enstone to see the engineers and talk about Brazil. The team recorded a lot of data last year, which is important for learning the layout because it is possible to analyze speeds, braking, trajectory and start to understand the lap a little more. I also went back to the simulator to help me learn the circuit. It only takes an hour to know the route well enough and to be confident enough, then start to attack. »
