Pierre Gasly “deserved a chance” to join Red Bull in 2022

Pierre Gasly « deserved a chance » to join the stable Red Bull in 2022. The French pilot, interviewed by the official website for the Formula 1, reiterated his desire to join Milton Keynes in the near future. Asked if he had done enough to reconnect with the team whose colors he defended during the first part of the season in 2019, the Norman did not resort to the language of wood. “ I think I performed at a very good level this season, better than in 2018 when I was presented with the opportunity (to join Red Bull). I got better, I gained more experience and, based on this year, I deserved a better chance. But the decision has been made, that doesn’t change my motivation.«

For the 2022 season, the Austrian firm has decided on the status quo for its two teams: Red Bull will retain Max Verstappen et Sergio Perez, wheras'Alpha Tauri will stay with Pierre Gasly and Yuki tsunoda. The winner of the 2020 Italian GP will therefore compete for a third full consecutive season with the Faenza team (Italy). “ My goal is to be a Red Bull driver. I want to ride in one car who fights for podiums and victories, underlines the 25-year-old pilot. This is what I work for and will always be my goal.« 

This weekend in Austin, Pierre Gasly will have the opportunity to exceed his total points acquired last season (74) and continue the fight between AlphaTauri and Alpine in the fight for 5th place in the Manufacturers' championship. The Italian team is 12 points behind the mark at the A arrow.
