Pierre Gasly Red Bull reserve driver

Pierre Gasly was confirmed as reserve pilot of Red Bull Racing until the end of the season. The member of the Junior Team of the Austrian structure notably made the trip last weekend to Suzuka where the Japanese GP took place. The 19-year-old Frenchman will also be present at the Mexican GP (October 30 to November 1) and Sao Paulo (Brazil, November 13 to 15).

« It's a leap into the unknown, but it's an opportunity that won't leave you indifferent! ", declared Pierre Gasly. “It is rare that a reserve pilot has to replace a regular pilot. If this scenario were to arise, I imagine that the team would not have exactly the same expectations. But I have to respond and be able to give the best of me and get the most out of the car. The team knows what it is doing and it has the means to prepare me as well as possible. »

Pierre Gasly is currently competing in the GP2 Series with the Dams team, with whom he occupies seventh place in the Championship. “When you look closely, I am the 2nd fastest driver in qualifying. My place should have been between 2nd and 4th in the championship and the current result does not reflect our level of performance”, added the Red Bull Junior Team resident.
