Pierre Gasly, first days in blue

After nine seasons spent in the Red Bull galaxy, the Normandy stands on his own two feet by joining Alpine. At Yas Marina, the end-of-season tests allowed him to get his bearings in his new team, which he hopes will allow him to take a step forward in his career.

On paper, the move was not too disorienting for Pierre Gasly. Between the hospitality Alpha Tauri et Alpine, just a few meters away in the Yas Marina paddock. The location of the structures being governed by the Manufacturers' classification of the previous year, the two teams found themselves next door neighbors throughout the season. However, the installation of the Gasly clan among the Blues was not obvious after five years with the Italians of Faenza. “It’s a bit like our back to school, smiled Guillaume Le Goff (see Carpooling), Pierre's manager. We arrived this morning at Alpine, without really knowing where we should put our schoolbag. (Laughs) This was the main objective of these two days: to start creating a relationship, to understand who the different actors are, our points of contact in relation to the different subjects, and to ensure that Pierre can establish a dialogue with his team of engineers. »
