Pirelli concludes its first 2017 tire tests

If the stables F1 had started the traditional summer break on the evening of the German Grand Prix last Sunday, Pirelli had however requested the services of the Team Ferrari and Red Bull Racing to achieve the first testing sessions for the 2017 tires.

Pirelli accumulated 459 laps in four days (285 with Ferrari, then 174 with Red Bull) with the Italian team and a modified SF15-T at Fiorano initially to evaluate the tires for wet tracks (intermediate and wet) thanks to Sebastian Vettel and Esteban Gutiérrez, then with Red Bull and Sébastien Buemi driving an RB11 for slick tires at Mugello.

The 2017 tires will be wider than the current ones (from 245 to 305 mm at the front and from 325 to 405 mm at the rear), and Pirelli had required specific sessions to best understand the change in 2017 regulations. tests will take place on September 6 and 7 in Barcelona with Ferrari and tests focused on slick tires.
