This is the team of the moment: Alpha Tauri achieves a thunderous end to the season. Since the United States Grand Prix, the Italian team has gone from last to 8th place in the Manufacturers' championship, with 16 points scored (compared to 5 in the... first 17 Grands Prix!). Better yet: the Team can now aim for 7th place, since it is only 7 units behind Williams before the last two rounds of the season, in Las Vegas then in Abu Dhabi.

In addition to the results, AlphaTauri managed to establish itself as a mid-table team during the last meetings, playing neck and neck with Alpine and even Ferrari during the Brazilian Grand Prix. A sudden and unexpected return to form, even for trans training pilotsalpine, to start with Yuki tsunoda. The Japanese has regained his appetite and a certain optimism after a difficult start to the season.

“It’s a big surprise. I think we are currently the underdogs, especially compared to our other competitors, estimates the young 23-year-old pilot. This is a good thing. So far we have scored points in three consecutive races. So it's a very good rhythm. We must continue like this for the rest of the races. We are now closer to 7th place in the teams' championship. I think it is possible and we will do our best. »

Tsunoda, time for confirmation?

On a personal level, Yuki Tsunoda made up for his recent mistakes during the Brazilian Grand Prix. In Mexico, the Japanese rushed to overtakeOscar piastri, making contact with the Australian a few laps from the finish. A punishment that he could have experienced again at Interlagos, losing control of his car after braking in the grass. More fear than harm, since the family's protégé Red Bull finished in 9th place. “It was a big mistake, confided the person concerned. It was a little scary. I was done on it! Fortunately, I didn't give up. »

Despite his minor mistakes, Yuki Tsunoda explained that he felt more and more comfortable aboard the AT03, which coincides with AlphaTauri's resurgence in form. Faced with a Daniel Ricciardo who is starting to return to an acceptable level, the Japanese must assert themselves. “I feel better, I feel more balanced, he admits. The results speak for themselves. We've taken a big step forward, especially with the improvements we've made in Austin. Before that, we didn't score points often enough. Now we are scoring points in three consecutive races. This shows everything. »

Possible that the small Scuderia with 2 drivers on the pace manages to steal 7th place from Williams who only drops one driver capable of scoring points as soon as the opportunity presents itself!
