Räikkönen or Ricciardo – “Difficult to judge” for Vettel

Kimi Räikkönen or Daniel Ricciardo ? On the occasion of the Silverstone Youth Tests, the future surrounding the second steering wheel at Red Bull left free next year by the departure of Mark Webber in Endurance monopolized all the debates. And for good reason, the Austrian team rolled Ricciardo, currently enrolled by the sister team Toro Rosso, in the RB9. Also present on Friday, Sebastian Vettel has, for its part, not expressed any particular preference for one or the other of the two contenders. “It doesn’t matter to me, I get along well with both”, he explained at Sky Sports.

“I probably know Kimi better (Räikkönen) that Daniel (Ricciardo) but I think that he did a good job (Thursday at the wheel of the Red Bull, Editor’s note),” judged the three-time reigning world champion. “All the drivers we had this week, Antonio Félix da Costa and also Carlos Sainz Jr, they did a good job. They kept the car on the track, on a circuit which is not easy and quite hot too, I think we can be happy with the results ».

As for the prospect of teaming up with the unpredictable Finn, world champion in 2007, Sebastian Vettel assures that it would not change anything. “Of course I can understand the excitement that this might arouse. But in the end if you want to fight for the championship it doesn't matter, you have to beat everyone and it's the same if you have a strong teammate in your team or not. In short, for the German, it is too early to comment. “It’s difficult to judge what would be best at this stage. It?s the team?s decision, clearly I can give my opinion, but that?s it?he concludes.
