Räikkönen still wants to fight with Ferrari

Kimi Räikkönen was hopeful of securing his first podium of the season at the Monaco Grand Prix before suffering a puncture following contact with Max Chilton's Marussia. At the end of the first six races, the results are mediocre for the 2007 world champion, whose best result remains a 7th place obtained in Melbourne and Barcelona. If his teammate Fernando Alonso is closest to the pilots Red Bull, the Finn is only in 12th place with only 17 points scored!

Despite these difficulties, Kimi Räikkönen ensures that he is still motivated to obtain convincing results with the team. Maranello. “It’s very hard for everyone to fight with the drivers Mercedes but you never know what the future may hold”, said the Ferrari driver during an event of karting organized by Santander where the Scandinavian faced journalists on the Rudskogen track. “I would like to be able to achieve it even if it is very complicated, particularly for me with my position in the Championship. But I am still used to fighting as the team that does not give up on the development of the F14 T and I hope that we will manage to reap good results. I think we will be able to resolve our problems but we need time. The results will come if we achieve it before the end of the season because my motivation is intact. »

The former world champion does not seem to want to give up even though the Finn is already 34 years old and had tried to make a career in WRC. The Scuderia driver does not rule out returning to it even if it is not on the agenda. “I am more experienced compared to the year I won my title. I'm a few years older but I don't feel it and I still have a great desire to drive. As for the rally, I would like to be able to do a little more but for the moment I am fully focused on the F1."
