Red Bull is firmly awaiting developments from Renault

While Red Bull Racing occupies 3rd place in the Manufacturers' Championship, the RB13s of Max Verstappen et Daniel Ricciardo are still not able to fight for victory on a regular basis against the Mercedes and Ferrari.

Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, admitted that his team had high hopes for the developments planned by Renault on its Power Unit.

“The work seems to be progressing well, admitted Christian Horner on the official F1 website. They said it would be for the 3rd engine and so it will depend on when it is introduced. We will in any case try to put it on track as soon as possible, hoping that it will be for Montreal (the Canadian GP is scheduled for June 11). We will pray in church every week for this to happen as soon as possible. »

Christian Horner nevertheless wanted to clarify that the Power Unit was not the only element involved in the performance deficit against Mercedes and Ferrari.

“We can only focus on our part, explained Christian Horner. We do the best we can with the resources available. I am convinced that our second half of the season will be much better than the first. The regulations have evolved significantly and Mercedes and Ferrari have done a better job of exploiting the new rules. We had some concerns that we now understand. We're growing fast, but we have to work twice as hard to catch up. »

Red Bull Racing has only won two podiums after the first five Grands Prix of the season.
