Red Bull at an impasse with its 2016 engine?

Red Bull Racing and its second stable Toro Rosso are in a delicate situation a few months before the start of the 2016 season. The Red Bull has not yet reached an agreement with Mercedes ou Ferrari as an engine manufacturer while his contract with Renault will end this year.

The only solution for the Austrian brand seems to be on the side of Maranello since discussions with the star manufacturer have stalled. “I went to Mateschitz (Red Bull director) to ask him if he was interested and he said ‘Yes but…’ and we didn’t go any further… and we chose to provide Manor », explained Niki Lauda, the non-executive vice-president of Mercedes on Sky Sports F1.

But Red Bull's negotiations with Ferrari also appear to be deteriorating. Helmut Marko complained about the proposals made by the Prancing Horse who would like to supply the Power Units for the 2015 season. “They are playing a game with us but we don’t want to play it. The possibility of departure is becoming more and more apparent. It is an offense to offer us engines from the 2015 season when Sauber and Haas F1 will have 2016 versions », warned the Austrian in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport.
