Red Bull and Aston Martin unveil the Valkyrie AMR Pro

Of the association between Aston Martin et Red Bull Advanced Technologies was already born Valkyrie, hypercar developed under the leadership of Red Bull Technologies technical director Adrian Newey.

The thinking head of Red Bull Racing, at the origin of the dominant single-seaters during the era Sebastian Vettel, and the English firm have taken their collaboration on the Valkyrie project to the extreme, in the form of this AMR Pro version, intended exclusively for the circuit.

On the program, profound aesthetic differences, since the AMR Pro version undergoes numerous aerodynamic changes. With a view to optimal performance, the front and rear wings have increased in size. Active aerodynamic control strategies have also been revised to meet track demands.

« Although it boasts extraordinary performance, it has always been vitally important to me that the Valkyrie performs like a real road car, and this naturally offers some constraints, admits Adrian Newey.

However, with the Valkyrie AMR Pro we have the freedom to create an extreme development that makes no such concessions. While the basic elements of the road and track versions are common, all aspects of the AMR Pro – aerodynamics, chassis, powertrain and weight – have been optimized to significantly increase performance.

This offers a level of track performance significantly beyond any other closed two-seater car. » The advanced figures of over 3,3 G achieved in corners and a top speed of 400 km/h speak for themselves.

More power, fewer pounds

The mechanical part of the Valkyrie is not left out. Aston Martin and Red Bull announce an increase in the power and torque of the naturally aspirated 12-liter V6,5, which will be “recalibrated”. The removal of the emission control systems installed on the road version will also contribute to this increase in performance.

The Valkyrie AMR Pro can be fitted with Michelin racing tires, equivalent to those used in WEC on LM P1s. Reducing the diameter of the wheels indeed offers this possibility, and the installation of carbon brakes inspired by F1 will offer top-notch braking.

The loss of mass was also at the center of the engineers' concerns for this track version, with the installation of a polycarbonate windshield and windows, a carbon fiber body with lightweight construction, and suspensions also incorporating carbon fiber. The Valkyrie's exhaust is also lighter.

The twenty-five lucky people who already own this extreme version will be able to benefit from a specific training program on the simulator and on the track, but also on a physical level.
