Red Bull Racing burgled in Milton Keynes

It's definitely a bad year for Red Bull Racing. The stable in Milton Keynes (Great Britain) was broken into last night around 1:30 a.m. by a group of six men. The thugs used a vehicle (a gray SUV) to force entry and access the building in order to steal more than 60 trophies won by the quadruple world champion team, while a second car (a station wagon Mercedes dark in color) was waiting outside.

“We are clearly devastated by this burglary... where over 60 of the team's hard-earned trophies over the years were stolen,” commented Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing in a press release. “This theft caused significant damage and was very shocking for our night staff who were on duty at the time. The burglars not only took things that did not belong to them, but which represented the efforts of the team and each member. »

The director of the Austrian team questions the motivations of the thugs. “Beyond the aggressiveness of this burglary, we are perplexed by the desire to steal these trophies. Their value is obviously extraordinary to the team...but their financial values are low and would bring little benefit outside the team. Additionally, many of the trophies on display were just replicas. »

Red Bull intends in any case to take measures to prevent such a scenario from happening again. “These actions will force us to make the site less accessible in the future, which is unfair to the thousands of fans who visit our factory each year to see our trophies and our F1."

Christian Horner concludes by asking anyone with information to notify Thames Valley Police who are investigating. Law enforcement said both vehicles appeared to have foreign license plates. No Red Bull personnel were injured in the incident.
