Renault must progress for Cyril Abiteboul

Cyril Abiteboul knows what he's talking about. Former executive director of Renault Sport F1, the now Team Principal of Caterham F1 Team, knows that the French engine will have a major role in the performance of his car CT05, as well as in all F1 cars powered by the V6 turbo/tricolor hybrid. After tests at Jerez where its engines covered less than 700 km, when the competing engines covered 1966 km for Ferrari and almost 3874 km for the V6 Mercedes, reliability must return to the Losange camp.

“It is imperative that they make big progress in all areas of engine performance and also on the reliability side. » declares Cyril Abiteboul. “Renault is our partner and we will work closely with them, as we always do, to help them find solutions. For our team, it was a difficult, but interesting week. Now we have just over two weeks to prepare for the Bahrain test and everyone is ready for the work ahead of us. »

The next test session will take place on the Sakhir track in Bahrain between February 19 and 22.
