Renault will be aggressive

Two races from the end of the season, the team Renault has no intention of changing his approach to racing. With Fernando Alonso et Romain Grosjean, Renault F1 wants to capitalize in order to end its season in the best possible way.

« We are focusing on the next two races and I think if we have a good position on the starting grid we will be able to convert this performance into points », confides Bob Bell. “ At each race, we are determined to win or at least aim for a podium. We are not going to change anything in this fundamental approach and start being on the defensive to protect our position. »

With 26 points, the Renault team is currently seventh in the Manufacturers' championship, between the team Williams which precedes it by 9,5 points and BMW which follows just behind by two points. “ The only possible way to defeat these two teams is to have an aggressive approach and try to maximize our final positions “, continues the Briton.

Finally returning to the Japanese Grand Prix where Fernando Alonso only took tenth position at the finish, Bell noted that the team had suffered following the poor qualification of its driver.

« We are disappointed not to have been able to score points especially because Fernando?s race was very aggressive and because he was able to gain six places. In the end, we suffered from the problems encountered during the qualifying session and Fernando started from 16th place. Despite the fact that we were unable to score any points, the team did a very good job and we can be relatively satisfied to have been able to get the most out of this race considering where we started it from. He concluded.
