Renault organizes itself internally

Renault finally made the choice of reason, so as not to appoint new executives in a hurry. The team was therefore reorganized internally to compensate for the departure of Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds, found guilty of cheating in the intentional accident of Nelson Piquet Jr at the 2009 Singapore Grand Prix. And, a few hours before the start of the race, 2009 edition of this Singaporean meeting, Bob Bell and Jean-François Caubet saw their roles expand.

Bob Bell, currently Technical Director, will now assume the role of Team Principal, while retaining his previous responsibilities. He will be present at all end-of-year Grands Prix and will be Renault's spokesperson on sporting and technical matters.

Jean-François Caubet, until now director of marketing and communications, takes over the role of general manager. The latter, as well as Bob Bell, will report directly to Bernard Rey, president of Renault F1 team.

By communicating its new organization chart, the Franco-British team hopes to close the subject of the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix in order to concentrate on the 2009 edition and the end of the Formula 1 season.
