Renault worked on its pit stops

Renault approached its fourth pre-season testing session with confidence, aiming to complete its preparation for the 2010 season. Like other teams, notably Force India, Renault worked on its pit stops, seeking to improve speed changing tires. This area offers significant time savings for teams, now that refueling is no longer on the agenda.

Vitaly Petrov, first to ride in Barcelona, was happy with how this day of testing went. “ The track conditions were pretty good today and I was happy not to have had to ride in the rain! The day was satisfactory. We did a good number of simulated pit stops and we also did a good job setting up the R30, it went well. »

« We devoted a good part of the morning to simulated pit stops with Vitaly; everything went well, says Alan Permanente, chief engineer. It was also the first track training for the team without refueling. We did not encounter any procedural problems. Unfortunately, we had a hydraulic problem at the start of the afternoon which forced us to change part of the hydraulic system. This limited our driving time in the second part of the day. Nevertheless, we were able to do a good job of tuning and Vitaly was able to familiarize himself with this circuit. »
