Renault aims higher

Renault, despite very good times in Q2, did not obtain the expected results in Q3 on Saturday. While Vitaly Petrov and Robert Kubica ran 1:20??7 and 1:20??8 in the second phase of the session, they each lost five tenths (1:21??2 and 1:21?? 3) in Q3. Eric Boullier tells us that the reason is pneumatic. “ We are a little frustrated because we made a strategic choice that did not work, explains the main Renault team F1. We gave them two quick laps on the same set of soft tires. In fact, one lap was enough because the tires were deteriorating too quickly »

Despite a rather disappointing fourth row due to the potential of the R30 on this type of circuit, Eric Boullier hopes that his two drivers will seek better positions. “ We can hope to be between 5th and 7th position. With a good strategy, we should be able to move up a place or two. We also know that we will be fast in the race. It will be important to seize every opportunity. Our goal will be to finish ahead of Rosberg and see if we can catch up Hamilton. »
