Positive result for Renault and Nico Hülkenberg

Feelings remain mixed within the clan Renault Sport F1 Team this Sunday after the British Grand Prix, where the French team celebrated the 40 years of presence of the brand in the Diamond in F1.

On the one hand, great opportunities lie in Nico Hulkenberg concluded his weekend in fine fashion by taking sixth place at the finish, thus equaling his best result of the year (Spain), but on the other hand, Jolyon Palmer was unable to compete in the event, slowed down in the formation lap by a hydraulic leak on his RS 17, thus causing a second starting procedure and a second formation lap.

For his part, Hülkenberg materialized the good performances seen since the start of the runs in England, despite an alert at the end of the race. « We lost power at the end, especially in a straight line, which allowed us to Daniel Ricciardo to overtake me but we regained a position when Sebastian Vettel had his problem, specifies the German.

We are very happy with the result today. Sixth place is a great success for the team. We managed to have a good lap in qualifying and continue that in the race. We had a solid pace and we were able to stay ahead of the Force India, which is really good.

Overall, this is a very positive result. The new improvements worked really well, we were able to push the car and I'm really happy for the team. »
