Ricciardo: “Very disappointed with my race in Bahrain”

Starting from an incredible third row at the start of the Grand Prix Formula 1 from Bahrain, Daniel Ricciardo went from sixth place to 16th in the space of one lap. Too careful during turn one, the Australian then damaged his front wing a few meters later. So many errors which prevented the Torro Rosso driver from getting back into the race and which transformed a dream start to the weekend into a Sunday to forget.

“Whoever you are, these kinds of errands will happen to you from time to time, admits Ricciardo. It?s very difficult to have high hopes for a race and see them dashed to nothing in a few minutes. Now I have to forget even if I am still very disappointed by my race in Bahrain. I am already looking forward to being in Barcelona to improve certain points. I really need to focus on the next race. »

And the lack of running is already oppressing Ricciardo so much that he can't wait to get into his STR7 next week at Mugello. “I have already spent a few days on the simulator to prepare for Mugello, continues the Australian. We will definitely have some improvements and we still have several evolutions from Bahrain that we would like to test in different conditions. From what the engineers told me, we won't be idle next week. I hope to get used to the track again quickly, because I haven't driven there since 2007, but it was my favorite track when I was in Formula Renault Italian. »
