Prodrive had acquired its place on the starting grids for 2008. But faced with the difficulties of creating a competitive team, David Richards had decided to “delay” his return to F1. 2010 could be the year of real departure.

“If the new regulations can allow us to live commercially and offer us the potential to be competitive, then we are ready to press the button,” promises the Briton. “We already have experience developing our F1 project in 2007. However, this adventure forces us to show a certain restraint for the moment even if I think that the proposals will be validated by the FIA. »

Originally a Prodrive program, F1 could quickly be rebadged Aston Martin, a brand now controlled by David Richard: “It is still too early to talk about it. We are awaiting the publication of the regulations to make our decisions. »
