Romain Grosjean: “Better than expected”

The team's overall result after qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix Lotus is the best won by the training ofenstone in 2015. With fourth place in Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado's eighth at the end of Q3, the E23 Hybrids showed their advantage on the Spa-Francorchamps slide.

“Today’s result is better than we expected, proclaims the Frenchman. I gave everything I had in the car for that last lap, I pushed hard from start to finish. Fourth position is a great reward. »

However, performance must be balanced by the penalty that Romain Grosjean will have to observe on the starting grid, following a gearbox change. The former GP2 champion will finally start from ninth place, while Maldonado takes advantage and gains a place (7th).

“We’ll see what we can accomplish from this position. We are better on our race pace than on our qualifying pace so with some good setup and hopefully some nice overtaking maneuvers we can score some good points on Sunday. » concludes the Frenchman.
